About:
Katherine (otherwise known as "Kat") is a former police officer and school resource officer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She obtained a Master's Degree in Safety, Security, and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky before attending law school at Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Kat has been licensed to practice law since 2015 and has attained extensive experience representing clients through the legal and emotional aspects of all family law matters. Kat has served on multiple dependency, neglect, and abuse panels in Northern Kentucky as both a Guardian Ad Litem for minor children and as legal counsel for parents.

​Kat has devoted much of her legal practice towards finalizing forever families through representation in adoption matters. The Katherine Schulz Law firm is especially committed to assisting Kentucky foster parents in achieving permanency for minor children in State care through affordable foster adoptions. Further, Kat has extensive case and litigiation experience in contested, stepparent, relative, fictive kin, adult, and independent private adoption cases. Altogether, Kat has finalized over 300 adoptions for families in Kentucky since 2019.

Kat's approach to client representation starts with transparent communication and collaboration based on the client's goals to develop a clear case strategy. About:
Leah started with Katherine Schulz Law as a law clerk before we officially opened our doors in Cold Spring, Kentucky in January 2022, and she is proud to further her legal career at Katherine Schulz Law as the firm's first associate attorney and mediator. She has continuously impressed with her legal applications, issue analyses, and client engagement, and she is honored to often be the first firm staff to communicate with prospective clients about the intricacies of their pending family law matter. She is especially prone to offer an attentive listening ear and words of encouragement to all of those who contact the firm.

Leah has always had a heart for community engagement and service. In law school, Leah held many leadership positions that centered around fostering and encouraging open dialogue and inclusivity efforts within the legal field. In law school, she proudly served as the Vice President and American Bar Association Representative of the Student Bar Association and was a fierce advocate and leader among her peers. Leah also worked under a limited law practice license at the Children’s Law Center in Covington, Kentucky where she served as a Guardian ad Litem for children in family law and educational justice matters and represented child defendants in juvenile justice cases.
Beyond practicing law, Leah is an avid supporter of the performing arts, loves to cook, and can often be found being overly competitive while playing HotMess Sports.


Autumn Lopp
Firm Manager
Autumn manages the firm communications, scheduling, and client billing. She is often the first point of contact for current and potential clients. Autumn is a powerhouse mix of likeability, creativity, and organization, so she's constantly improving firm-client relations and communications to provide clients with a uniquely personal case experience. Autumn and her husband have two children, and she is a lover of LEGOs and puzzles.

In summing up her objectives when communicatiing with clients: "Speaking to clients and offering top-notch customer service and support, especially during difficult times that include the involvement of a family lawyer, is something that I take pride in and look forward to daily. I have a passion for helping others, and I try to do everything with grace."
