About Katherine
Katherine (Kat) Schulz is a former police officer and school resource officer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Safety, Security and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University before attending law school at Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Kat has been licensed to practice law since 2015 and has attained extensive experience representing family law clients through the legal and emotional aspects of divorce and custody matters. Kat has served on multiple dependency, neglect and abuse panels in Northern Kentucky as both Guardian Ad Litem for children and as legal counsel for parents.

Kat’s approach to client representation starts with transparent communication and collaboration based on the client's goals to develop a clear case strategy. She brings legal comprehension, zealous advocacy, and compassion to each case. Kat and her team strive to provide a uniquely personalized case experience.

Kat has devoted much of her legal practice towards finalizing forever families through comprehensive adoption representation. Her firm is committed to assisting Kentucky foster parents in achieving permanency for children in state care through affordable foster adoptions. She has extensive case and litigation experience in contested, stepparent, relative, fictive kin, adult, and independent private adoption cases. Kat has finalized over 250 adoptions for families in Kentucky since 2019.
